Alternatives, Inc. in Jackson, NJ is seeking a full-time awake overnight Direct Support Professional (DSP) / Caregiver to support adults with developmental disabilities.

The role involves helping residents with daily living tasks, medication, meals, hygiene, and transportation to appointments, on a 11pm–9am schedule. Training is provided with paid sessions, and benefits include health coverage for full-time staff, mileage reimbursement, and a range of voluntary perks.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver's license with a good driving record.
• Ability to pass criminal/registry background checks and a drug screen.
• Clear tuberculosis (TB) screening.
• Ability to pass CPR/first aid, medication administration, and positive behavioral support trainings.
• Basic computer skills.
• Experience working with individuals with IDD preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Administer medications, cook meals, assist with personal hygiene, and transport clients to medical appointments.
• Assist in implementing individualized behavioral plans and teach new skills to help clients achieve goals.
• Encourage community outings and recreational activities and report health and safety concerns with accurate documentation.
