Job summary

AO is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) in Phillipsburg, NJ, for full-time overnight duties. The DSP will assist adults with daily living, promote independence, and follow individualized plans in a residential setting.

Paid training is provided and daily hours run 11:00 PM–9:00 AM with a weekend schedule consideration. The role requires a high school diploma or GED, 21+ years old, a valid driver's license, and the ability to pass background checks and trainings including CPR/First Aid.

Qualifications

• Must read, write, and document in English.
• High School Diploma or GED (or equivalent).
• Minimum age 21 years.
• Valid driver’s license with clean motor vehicle record.
• Ability to pass screenings and background checks.
• CPR and First Aid trainings required.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and time-management skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist individuals with activities of daily living ( hygiene, meals, housekeeping, shopping, community participation).
• Support in achieving ISP and behavior plans.
• Promote independence, dignity, self-advocacy and personal choice.
• Build supportive relationships and safe living environments.
• Provide supervision and teach daily living and social skills.
• Transport individuals to appointments and activities.
• Administer medications per policy and training.
• Monitor health/safety and respond to crises.
