Job summary

Waypoint Maine, Inc. is seeking a Direct Support Professional to assist individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in community and residential settings. The role emphasizes independence, dignity, and respectful interactions.

Starting pay is $22.00 per hour with a comprehensive benefits package and opportunities for certification as part of the role; you will work with a supportive team to promote safety, privacy, and person-centered planning.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Must become DSP, CRMA and Safety Care certified as a primary responsibility of the DSP position.
• Must have a valid driver's license from state of residence and clean driving record.
• Must be proficient in speaking, reading and writing English.
• The ability to learn beginner level Information Technology skills.

Responsibilities

• Support individuals to develop independence and participate in community activities.
• Develop a collaborative rapport with participants and cultivate a safe, supportive relationship to plan activities aligned with their goals.
• Respect each individual's right to privacy and confidentiality.
• Encourage self-determination and self-advocacy.
• Implement Service Implementation Plans and support/care plans.
