Job summary

Heart Havens is seeking a caring Direct Support Professional for overnight shifts (Friday–Saturday 10 PM–8 AM) to empower adults with developmental disabilities. You will help with daily living activities, medications, and community participation while upholding Heart Havens’ values of accountability, integrity, respect, and empathy.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or GED, 6 months of direct support experience, and enthusiasm for creating inclusive communities.

Qualifications

• Minimum Education and Experience: High school diploma or GED preferred.
• 6 months’ previous direct support experience required.
• 1-year previous direct support experience in a DD residential group home setting preferred, or a combination of experience and certifications with a minimum of two years in DD residential with a consistent job history.

Responsibilities

• Provides support to residents as outlined in ISPs and related plans.
• Supervises residents to ensure safety in home and community.
• Supports Activities of Daily Living to the level needed for success.
• Encourages residents to engage with others and participate in meaningful activities.
• Administers medications according to procedures and 6 Rights of Medication Administration.
• Completes accurate daily documentation including ISP notes and logs.
• Notifies leadership of incidents and changes in resident health.
• Performs routine emergency drills and follows policy and procedures.
