Job summary

The Center for Developmental Disabilities, Inc. is seeking a part-time Direct Support Professional in Massapequa, NY. The role involves providing consistent, person-centered support to individuals with differing abilities, and advocating for their needs.

Hours include a Tue–Thu 11:00 PM–9:30 AM schedule; you will participate in trainings and collaborate with a dedicated team to promote independence and community inclusion. A High School diploma and active AMAP/SCIP certifications are required.

Job description

• Base Pay $20.00 - $23.00 / Hour

Description

We offer a comprehensive benefits package and a sign-on bonus of $1,000.

This position is eligible for rate differentials, with total hourly compensation starting at $20.00/hour and reaching up to $21.50/hour (depending on role & shift).

Some Job Responsibilities:

• It is the responsibility of the DSP to ensure that all individuals at their site receive support that is consistent.
• It is the responsibility of the DSP to advocate for those they support.
• It is the responsibility of the DSP to participate in trainings that will help them better understand and support those they work with.
• It is the responsibility of the DSP to work as part of a team at their site(s) to ensure the best support for individuals and to achieve mutual goals.

Job Qualifications:

• High School Diploma/GED.
• Complete and maintain AMAP and SCIP certification, as per CDD policy.
• Able to stand and bend throughout the day.
• Able to sit for an extended period of time.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs.
• Valid NYS Driver’s License.
