Job summary

The Center for Developmental Disabilities, Inc. is seeking a part-time Direct Support Professional (DSP) in Dix Hills, NY. The role supports children and adults with differing abilities, assisting with daily activities and community participation.

Schedule: Part Time, Monday–Friday 7am–11am. Base pay is $20.00–$21.00/hour, with potential to reach $22.25/hour depending on role and shift. PTO, holidays, and tuition assistance are offered.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED is required.
• AMAP and SCIP certification are required as per CDD policy.
• Able to stand and bend throughout the day; able to lift 50 lbs.
• Valid NYS Driver's License is required.

Responsibilities

• Ensure individuals receive consistent support at their site.
• Advocate for the individuals they support.
• Participate in trainings to better support individuals.
• Work with the site team to achieve mutual goals and provide the best support.

This position is eligible for rate differentials, with total hourly compensation starting at $20.00/hour and reaching up to $22.25/hour (depending on role & shift).

Some Job Responsibilities:

• It is the responsibility of the DSP to ensure that all individuals at their site receive support that is consistent.
• It is the responsibility of the DSP to advocate for those they support.
• It is the responsibility of the DSP to participate in trainings that will help them better understand and support those they work with.
• It is the responsibility of the DSP to work as part of a team at their site(s) to ensure the best support for individuals and to achieve mutual goals.

Job Qualifications:

• High School Diploma/GED.
• Complete and maintain AMAP and SCIP certification, as per CDD policy.
• Able to stand and bend throughout the day.
• Able to sit for an extended period of time.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs.
• Valid NYS Driver’s License.
