Job summary

The Center for Developmental Disabilities, Inc in New York seeks a Recreation Specialist/DSP to organize and plan recreational activities for individuals with differing abilities. You will deliver support aligned with dignity and core competencies, and participate in ongoing trainings to improve your skills.

Requires High School Diploma/GED, NYS Driver’s License, ability to lift 50 lbs; AMAP/SCIP certifications preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED.
• Complete and maintain AMAP and SCIP certification, as per the Center's policy.
• Valid NYS Driver’s License Required.
• Must be able to sit, stand, lift 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Organize and plan recreational activities for individuals.
• Ensure support is consistent with Dignity and Core Competencies.
• Participate in trainings to better understand and support those they work with.

Job description

• Base Pay $21.50 - $24.75 / Hour

We provide a robust benefit package and a $1,000 Sign-On Bonus.

This position qualifies for rate differentials, the pay range with the differentials added is $21.50 per hour to $24.50 per hour.

Some Job Responsibilities:

• It is the responsibility of the Recreation Specialist/DSP to organize and plan recreational activities.
• It is the responsibility of the Recreation Specialist/DSP to ensure that all individuals at their site receive support that is consistent with Support with Dignity and the Core Competencies.
• It is the responsibility of the Rec/DSP to participate in trainings that will help them better understand and support those they work with.

Job Qualifications:
