Job summary

The Child and Family Guidance Center is seeking an Overnight Case Manager in Norwalk, CT. This full-time role supports children ages 0-18 in crisis, working 9 PM–6 AM, Monday through Friday, to connect families with essential services and prevent unnecessary hospital visits.

Responsibilities include coordinating services, providing mobile crisis support with MCIS clinicians, and maintaining records. A social work degree and driver’s license are required; bilingual Spanish is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, B.S or B.A level.
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience with children and families.
• Knowledge about child development and parenting.
• Must have a driver’s license with access to a car and ability to travel within the greater Bridgeport/Norwalk area.
• Bi-Lingual Spanish preferred.
• Ability to work collaboratively with others while meeting deadlines.
• Able to work in an unstructured, high-pressure environment with intense emotions.

Responsibilities

• Assist families in obtaining and securing necessary services (transportation, translation, advocacy, educational and social supports).
• Coordinate with MCIS clinicians to link families to follow-up services.
• Provide mobile crisis services with MCIS clinicians when needed to address family and child issues.
• Provide outreach to community agencies, schools, courts, and individuals as appropriate.
• Participate in weekly supervision, case conferences and team meetings.
• Maintain accurate records, assist in data collection, and support quality assurance.
• Screen 211 calls and Outpatient ECC calls as needed.
