Job summary

Qualus Corporation seeks an Overhead Transmission Line Engineer to design and create construction drawings for high-voltage transmission projects in the Reno area. The role focuses on designs from 69kV to 500kV and requires strong analytical skills and collaboration with clients.

The ideal candidate has a BS in engineering, 4+ years in overhead transmission design, proficiency with PLS-CADD and AutoCAD, and well-developed communication abilities. Travel up to 10% and a PE license are a plus.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited BS degree in Mechanical or Civil Engineering.
• 4+ years of experience in overhead transmission design.
• Proficiency with PLS-CADD and AutoCAD required.
• Strong communication and attention to detail.
• Ability to travel up to 10% and valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Design overhead transmission lines in 69kV–500kV range.
• Create construction sketches for 4 kV through 34 kV feeders.
• Perform structural and foundation design analyses.
• Model lines in PLS-CADD and develop plan and profile drawings.
• Review vendor submittals.
