Job summary

Pike Electric, Inc. in Greensboro, NC seeks a Groundman to join our field crew. You will assist with building, repairing and maintaining overhead electrical distribution systems, reporting to the Foreman.

This is physical outdoor work requiring safety-first practices and willingness to travel for outages and out-of-state assignments. Responsibilities emphasize operating and inspecting equipment, following PPE protocols and supporting team safety while performing demanding tasks in varied weather

Qualifications

• Valid Driver's License and able to obtain CDL within 60 days.
• Willing to travel long distances on short notice.
• Lift, carry, push, or pull materials and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Work extended periods at job locations, including out-of-state assignments.
• Willing to work outside of normal business hours, including weekends, holidays, emergency callouts, and overtime.

Responsibilities

• Assist in building, repairing and maintaining overhead electrical distribution systems.
• Help install and repair overhead power lines, poles, insulators, conductors and related hardware.
• Maintain company vehicles, equipment and tools in good working order.
• Work outdoors in varying environmental conditions, including extreme heat, cold, rain, wind, and inclement weather.
• Available to work outages, storms, emergencies including on call rotation.
• Follow all safety protocols including PPE use and a comprehensive understanding of insulated protective cover to isolate differences of potential.
• Inspect rubber goods and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
• Understanding of when to wear personal protective equipment.
• Will perform rigorous physical labor.
