Job summary

Utility Lines Construction Services is seeking an entry-level Overhead Distribution C Lineperson in Matthews, NC to install and repair overhead distribution and transmission systems, including poles, cables and electrical equipment. You will work with transformers, insulators, switches, and stringing overhead wire while following Safety and Health standards.

Qualifications

• Must have 1-2 years of experience in the electrical power line construction industry.

Responsibilities

• Installing transformers, crossarms, insulators, switches, and switchgear.
• Setting poles and stringing overhead wire.
• Troubleshooting primary and secondary systems.
• Replacing cutout fuses and clearing faulted circuits and systems.
• Ability to solve problems with unidentified circumstances on any particular job.
• Ensure daily testing and inspection of assigned tools and equipment.
• Will have contact with public and private property owners to communicate work.
• Maintain company equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
• General duties related to the installation of overhead power supply.
• Perform new construction, maintenance or repair work on energized and de-energized overhead line work following Safety standards.
• All other duties as required by Supervisors.
• Reports all potential equipment and crew safety hazards to Foreperson
