Job summary

STEELSUMMIT HOLDINGS INC is seeking a Crane Operator to safely maneuver overhead cranes and transport materials across a steel plant. You will coordinate with crane operators, perform coil sampling, and ensure accurate inventory tagging while adhering to strict safety rules.

The role requires physical stamina, forklift certification, and proficiency with calipers, tape measures, micrometers, hand tools, and plasma cutters.

Qualifications

• A minimum of a high school diploma or GED is required.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills are essential.
• Proficiency with measurement tools and basic inspection is expected.
• Valid hi-lo forklift license and ability to operate overhead cranes.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to safety regulations and attendance policies.
• Inspects crane equipment and surrounding areas at shift start.
• Uses two-way radios to coordinate coil location with crane operators.
• Executes coil-cutting procedures for sampling purposes.
• Attaches and manages inventory tags for inventory control.
• Delivers materials to staging or operational areas as scheduled.
• Facilitates movement of processed coils to packaging line operations as needed.
• Transports materials for Shipping/Receiving/Material Handling as required.
