Job summary

Estes-Express-Lines is seeking an experienced CDL-A truck driver to operate a tractor-trailer across varied routes, ensuring safe freight transport and compliance with FMCSA regulations. You will perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections, handle loading/unloading tasks, and maintain accurate records while providing professional service to customers.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent background.
• 21 years of age; 1 year driving experience.
• Must possess a valid Class A Commercial Driver's License.
• FMCSA Drug & Alcohol Clearinghouse registered.
• Residency within 75 miles of the domiciled Service Center/work assignment.
• HazMat, Tanker and Doubles endorsements required.
• Able to meet FMCSA requirements and drive per FMCSA rules.
• Stable employment history preferred.
• Ability to operate a forklift (7500 lb).
• Push/pull a loaded pallet jack (70 lbs).
• Physical ability: standing, lifting, twisting, etc.
• Drop/hook and couple trailers with ~65 lbs pressure.
• Acceptable MVR required.
• Familiar with state laws and FMCSA rules.
• Pass FMCSA medical exam and road test.
• English reading/speaking per FMCSA.

Responsibilities

• Operate all types of equipment to perform safety functions.
• Safely operate tractor/trailer to transport freight under FMCSA rules.
• Adhere to FMCSA requirements for CDL holders.
• Maintain records to comply with regulations.
• Comply with safe and legal transport of hazardous materials.
• Ensure security of equipment and cargo.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
• Inspect vehicle, gauges, and seals before/during trips.
• Report maintenance problems to Fleet Services.
• Verify unit numbers vs paperwork and report discrepancies.
• May use in-cab technology including electronic logs.
• May drive different schedules and dock work as needed.
• Over-the-road runs as approved by Safety.
• Provide professional service to customers and public.
• Assist with loading/unloading freight as needed.
