Job summary

Novax Recruitment Ltd is seeking an Outside Sales Representative in Virginia to manage a defined sales territory. The role focuses on developing new business opportunities, growing existing customer relationships, and delivering exceptional service in a metals distribution context.

You will meet with clients, prepare quotations, negotiate contracts, and work with internal teams to ensure timely delivery while forecasting performance to hit revenue targets.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in a sales and customer service role, ideally within the steel, metals, or industrial distribution sector.
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or equivalent industry sales experience.
• Proven ability to generate new business while developing existing customer relationships.
• Strong knowledge of steel products or a similar industrial product range.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
• Experience preparing sales quotations and proposals.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office applications.
• Willingness to travel extensively (approximately 50%+ by road and air) within the assigned territory.

Day to Day

We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established metals distribution and processing business seeking an experienced Outside Sales Representative to manage and grow an assigned sales territory.

In this role, you will be responsible for developing new business opportunities while maintaining and expanding relationships with existing customers. Using a consultative sales approach, you'll meet with clients face-to-face, identify opportunities for growth, prepare quotations and proposals, negotiate contracts, and deliver exceptional customer service.

Working closely with the internal sales team, you'll ensure orders are processed efficiently and delivered on time to customer specifications. You'll also be responsible for forecasting sales performance and implementing strategies to achieve revenue and volume targets.
