Job summary

Applied Industrial Technologies (MSS division) seeks an Account Manager/Outside Sales in Joliet/Romeoville, IL to build a territory, grow earnings, and develop repeat business within existing accounts while opening new opportunities. You will call on engineers, maintenance and purchasing, using a consultative selling approach to learn customers' applications and needs.

The role involves preparing quotations, demonstrations, inventory management, and reporting on sales activities.

Qualifications

• 1 year+ B2B sales experience or route sales experience preferred.
• Industrial/MRO knowledge is a plus.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record required.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage a sales territory to grow earnings and repeat business.
• Prospect new opportunities and build relationships with existing accounts.
• Prepare quotations, negotiate terms, and close transactions.
• Conduct product demonstrations and survey customer applications and needs.
• Complete reports on itineraries, expenses, sales calls and leads.
