Compensation Overview

The annual base salary range for this position is a nationwide market range, reflecting salaries across the country. The actual salary will depend on factors such as the scope, complexity, and location of the role; the skills, education, training, credentials, and experience of the candidate; and other employment conditions. Employees are also eligible for performance-based cash incentives as part of our comprehensive compensation and benefits program.

Salary Range: $48,700.00 - $80,400.00

What Is the Opportunity?

This is an entry-level position requiring satisfactory completion of required training to advance to Claim Professional, Outside Property. The role involves developing skills in investigating, evaluating, negotiating, and resolving claims of lesser value and complexity. Responsibilities include providing quality claim handling throughout the claim lifecycle, maintaining compliance with standards and regulations. The position requires completing an online pre-employment assessment, with further details provided during the hiring process.

***This position is based 100% remotely within the Fairfield, CT territory, potentially involving a mix of fieldwork and remote work. Residency in Fairfield, CT, is highly preferred.***

What Will You Do?

• Complete required training, including online, virtual, classroom, and on-the-job components, which may require travel.
• Handle 1st party property claims of moderate severity and complexity.
• Establish accurate damage scopes and utilize estimates for damages.
• Investigate and evaluate relevant facts for coverage, damages, liability, and business interruption.
• Establish claim and expense reserves accurately.
• Determine settlement amounts and negotiate claims within authority limits.
• Write denial letters, reservations of rights, and other correspondence.
• Assess damages, manage damages using cost evaluation tools, and ensure quality standards are met.
• Maintain claim files and ensure timely resolution.
• Provide excellent customer service to insureds, agents, and partners.
• Refer claims to specialized units as appropriate.
• Perform administrative functions and handle multi-line claims as needed.
• Attend legal proceedings when necessary.
• Maintain required licenses and certifications, including insurance licenses and a valid driver’s license.
• Physically capable of inspecting all areas of structures, including climbing ladders safely.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
