Compensation Overview

The annual base salary range provided for this position is a nationwide market range and represents a broad range of salaries for this role across the country. The actual salary will be determined by factors such as the scope, complexity, and location of the role; the skills, education, training, credentials, and experience of the candidate; and other employment conditions. Employees are also eligible for performance-based cash incentive awards as part of our comprehensive compensation and benefits program.

Salary Range

$48,700.00 - $80,400.00

What Is the Opportunity?

There is also a potential for a $4,000 sign-on bonus! This position is based 100% remotely and may include a combination of mobile work and/or work from your primary residence. It will cover the Baltimore, MD territory; therefore, you must reside in that area.

This entry-level position requires satisfactory completion of training to advance to Claim Professional, Outside Property. It involves developing skills for investigating, evaluating, negotiating, and resolving claims of lesser value and complexity. Responsibilities include handling the claim lifecycle, maintaining compliance, and completing assessments. A pre-employment online assessment is required, with accommodations available if needed.

What Will You Do?
  • Complete required training via online, virtual, classroom, and on-the-job methods, possibly involving travel.
  • Handle 1st party property claims of moderate severity and complexity.
  • Establish accurate scope of damages and utilize estimates for claims processing.
  • Investigate and evaluate relevant facts, damages, liabilities, and coverage.
  • Set claim and expense reserves accurately.
  • Determine settlement amounts and negotiate within authority limits.
  • Write denial letters, reservations, and other complex correspondence.
  • Assess damages, manage damages using evaluation tools, and ensure quality standards.
  • Maintain claim files, manage inventory, and ensure timely resolution.
  • Provide excellent customer service to insureds, agents, and partners.
  • Refer claims to specialized units as needed and perform administrative duties.
  • Assist with multi-line claim handling as required.
  • Attend legal proceedings when necessary.
  • Secure and maintain necessary licenses and certifications.
  • Physically inspect properties, including climbing ladders safely.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred or at least two years of related experience.

  • Attention to detail and ability to manage high-volume workload.
  • Basic analytical thinking and judgment skills.
