Hills Machinery Company in Columbia, SC is seeking a Rental Representative to drive outside rental sales and maximize machine utilization within the local market. You will handle customer transactions over the phone and in person, prepare rental forms, explain equipment usage, and maintain accurate contracts and records, while delivering excellent service.

The role requires strong communication, problem solving, and a proactive, energetic approach to meet rental goals and support the field team.

Qualifications

• 5 years of previous rental experience preferred.
• Positive, solutions-oriented mindset with strong time management and organizational skills.
• Excellent verbal/written and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to work with customers and colleagues in a positive, professional manner.
• Knowledge of equipment and local market preferred.

Responsabilités

• Rent equipment or arrange for service to customer.
• Prepare rental forms and contracts; obtain signatures and information.
• Collect deposits, payments, and balance daily receipts.
• Answer phone calls and take orders; maintain phone logs.
• Recommend items that meet customer needs and advise on equipment applications.
• Promote add-on rental equipment for appropriate applications.
• Maintain contract files and update overdue lists daily.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and safety requirements.
• Keep knowledge current on pricing trends and competition.
