The UpCounty Hub in Germantown, MD seeks a bilingual Community Outreach Worker to staff tabling events, educate the public, distribute materials, and connect residents with programs and services. The role supports the Food Benefits workflow and may assist with pre-screening and applications.
Evenings and weekends are required; strong Spanish communication, customer service, and organizational skills are essential.
The UpCounty HUB provides food and essentials to families every week living in the Upper Montgomery County Region through safe home deliveries and community distributions. The Social Services department connects families and individuals across Montgomery County with available community resources in a respectful, culturally sensitive manner.
A Spanish speaking Community Outreach Worker staffs tabling events at various community events such as health fairs, school wellness nights, agency program event days, food markets, neighborhood functions, and more to educate the public, distribute flyers, and help connect community residents with programs and services. This Outreach Worker will also be cross trained to assist the agency’s Food Benefits Worker who pre-screens and submits applications for monthly food benefits. Note: these events are typically in the evenings and on weekends.
