Job summary

Park Nicollet is seeking a Laboratory Assistant, Outreach Phlebotomist to join the team. The role encompasses specimen collection, client service, reception duties, scheduling and billing functions, and handling various lab processes to support efficient operations.

Responsibilities include phlebotomy, specimen processing, dispatching, and providing guidance on specimen handling. A valid driver’s license and phlebotomy experience are preferred, with ASCP certification also favored.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid driver’s license; may be required to drive personal car occasionally.
• Strong customer service and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to meet time-sensitive requests on short notice.
• One year phlebotomy experience preferred.
• ASCP certification for phlebotomy preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide a wide range of laboratory services including specimen collection and phlebotomy.
• Handle client service and reception desk duties, scheduling and billing functions.
• Support laboratory testing, dispatching, specimen processing, and centrifuging.
• Deliver specimens to appropriate laboratory/department; ensure efficient workflow.
• Serve as a resource for questions on specimen handling and processing.
