Park Nicollet is seeking a Laboratory Assistant, Outreach Phlebotomist to join the team. The role encompasses specimen collection, client service, reception duties, scheduling and billing functions, and handling various lab processes to support efficient operations.

Responsibilities include phlebotomy, specimen processing, dispatching, and providing guidance on specimen handling. A valid driver’s license and phlebotomy experience are preferred, with ASCP certification also favored.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid driver’s license; may be required to drive personal car occasionally.
• Strong customer service and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to meet time-sensitive requests on short notice.
• One year phlebotomy experience preferred.
• ASCP certification for phlebotomy preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide a wide range of laboratory services including specimen collection and phlebotomy.

Position Summary

The Laboratory Assistant will provide a wide range of laboratory services including specimen collection, client service and reception desk duties, ordering/ scheduling/ billing functions, laboratory testing, phlebotomy, dispatching, specimen processing, centrifuging, delivery of specimens to appropriate laboratory/department and assuring proper efficiency and workflow management. Position will also serve as a resource for questions from hospital and clinic staff regarding specimen handling and processing.

Required Qualifications

Licensure/ Registration/ Certification

• Safely and legally operate Park Nicollet vehicles, must have a valid driver’s license. May be required to drive personal car on an occasional basis.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Strong customer service skills, ability to work independently, good problem-solving skills.
• Demonstrates knowledge of age-related growth and development principles necessary to provide appropriate service and assure safety of patients.
• Demonstrates strong organizational skills with the ability to meet time-sensitive customer requests and changes on short notice.

Preferred Qualifications

Education, Experience or Equivalent Combination
