Job summary

DeafHealth seeks an Outreach & Community Engagement Coordinator to expand visibility and trust, building relationships with deaf communities and partners. You will craft accessible health communications in ASL and written English, coordinate outreach events, and support navigation and benefits enrollment services.

The role focuses on culturally responsive engagement, content creation, and collaboration with program staff to inform services and impact. Travel to community events is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Health Education, Public Health, Community Health, Social Work, or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Master's degree preferred.
• Minimum of two years of experience in community outreach, health education, healthcare navigation, public health, communications, advocacy, community engagement, or related fields.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a community-facing representative of DeafHealth by responding to inquiries and coordinating navigation, referrals, and resources.
• Support outreach strategies and attend events to promote DeafHealth programs and services.
• Create accessible health communications and ASL content across platforms (social media, websites, newsletters).
• Coordinate outreach activities to increase awareness, utilization, and impact of DeafHealth programs.
• Develop culturally and linguistically appropriate materials and captions/transcripts for multimedia content.
• Travel up to 15% to engage with diverse deaf communities in Austin and Central Texas.
