Job summary

Valley Mountain Regional Center Inc. seeks a Deaf and Hard of Hearing Community Coordinator to improve access, communication, and services for individuals with developmental disabilities in our five-county catchment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college; three years' experience serving Deaf or hard of hearing individuals.
• Strong ASL skills and knowledge of Deaf culture.
• Familiarity with ADA, Rehabilitation Act, and Lanterman Act.
• Experience in resource development, program evaluation, and vendor services.
• Ability to travel between sites and catchment areas.

Responsibilities

• Develop and expand Deaf and Hard of Hearing resources across VMRC's five-county area.
• Provide training and technical expertise on communication access and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with DDS, regional centers, and service providers to advance statewide best practices.
• Monitor service quality and vendor performance; assist with contract management.
• Serve as the primary local contact for individuals, families, and advocacy groups.
