Position Details
  • Salary Range: $85,000 - $143,000 annually
  • Up to $15,000 SOB

Position Summary

Performs routine and some special procedure imaging, diagnostic and medical sonograms. Prepares patients for procedures, assists radiologists when needed, operates and cares for equipment, develops and processes films, and adheres to established radiology standards of care. Maintains professional development through continuing education, and provides patient care while exercising professional judgment.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities
  • Prepares and positions patients correctly for examinations, documenting images and patient questionnaires.
  • Produces high-quality technical images and assists physicians during procedures.
  • Performs equipment quality assurance, calibrations, and orders supplies.
  • Works in emergency situations, on-call at Armonk Urgi-Center, and may work at other outpatient sites on holidays, evenings, or overnight shifts.
  • Maintains cleanliness of work areas and reports equipment malfunctions.
  • Processes CDs or prints pictures as needed.
  • Communicates findings with radiologists and physicians, documenting all communications.
Education & Experience Requirements
  • Completion of a certified ultrasound program or Limited Permit/certificate.
  • ARDMS eligibility after 1 year from graduation and 1000 clinical hours.
  • ARDMS required for ACR accreditation compliance, or ARRT (S) or RT (VS).
  • Experience preferred.
  • Must meet continuing education requirements to maintain certification.
  • BLS certification through the AHA required or to be completed within 90 days of hire.
