Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a Triage Nurse for the Vascular Surgery area in McHenry, IL. This full-time outpatient role involves travel to the Huntley clinic as needed, with a Monday–Friday 8:00am–4:30pm schedule at the McHenry clinic.

The nurse will triage calls, document in the EMR, coordinate visits and patient transfers, and provide education to patients and staff while upholding OSHA/CDC guidelines and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Graduate of accredited RN program.
• At least 3 years of experience in hospital or outpatient setting.
• Current Registered Nurse License issued by State of Illinois.

Responsibilities

• Triage all incoming calls and electronic messages, prioritizing and resolving with provider involvement.
• Document all communications in the EMR.
• Schedule patients for visits with providers when triage indicates needed care.
• Coordinate and monitor patient transfers and ensure appropriate documentation.
