Job summary

Northwestern Medicine seeks a Physician Assistant or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner to join the Vascular Surgery team. You will cover inpatient rounding and outpatient services, with potential OR involvement, at McHenry/Huntley Hospitals.

The role requires an Illinois RN and APRN license, acute care certification, BLS, and credentialing through the MSO. Prior vascular/ICU experience is preferred; strong teaching and care coordination are essential.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree from an accredited nursing school or Physician Assistant program.
• Acute care certification required for APRNs (inpatient experience considered).
• Current Illinois RN license and APRN license with national APRN certification.
• Privileged and credentialed through Northwestern Medicine MSO.
• BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates clinical expertise and manages a broad range of health problems.
• Provides direct clinical care to patients in inpatient/outpatient settings.
• Prescribes medications and orders tests; interprets labs per clinical privileges.
• Educates patients and families; mentors graduate students and staff.
• Participates in quality improvement, research initiatives, and committees.
