Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a Medical Assistant for a full-time role at the McHenry clinic with travel to the Huntley clinic as needed. Schedule is Monday–Friday, 8:00am–4:30pm, supporting physicians and the care team to optimize patient flow and care delivery.

Responsibilities include preparing exam rooms, taking vitals, assisting with procedures, and maintaining compliance with ethics and safety standards. Requires MA certification and BLS; 0–2 years' experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Certification options include CMA, RMA, NCMA, CCMA or NHA equivalents; obtain within six months if not yet certified.

Responsibilities

• Manage efficient patient flow and assist physicians, nurses and staff.
• Prepare exam rooms, collect vitals, document history, allergies and meds.
• Assist with ECG, venipuncture, immunizations and CLIA-waived tests as directed.
• Maintain clean, stocked exam rooms and inventory; ensure safety and compliance.
• Support patient communications by phone and in person as part of the care team.
