District Surgery Center, LLC in Bethesda, MD is seeking a Surgical Technician to prepare the operating room, maintain sterile technique, and assist surgeons during outpatient procedures. The role supports patient safety, efficient case flow, and adherence to aseptic practices throughout the case.

The Technician will pass instruments, monitor the sterile field, and perform surgical counts with the nursing staff.

Competenze

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1-2 years of surgical technician experience in outpatient or hospital setting.
• Current BLS (CPR) certification.
• State registration or credential where required by state law.

Mansioni

• Prepares the operating room for each case, gathering instruments, supplies, equipment, and implants according to the surgeon's card.
• Opens sterile supplies, checks sterility indicators and expiration dates, and sets up the sterile field, back table, and Mayo stand.
• Performs the surgical scrub, gowns and gloves for self and team, and assists with draping.
• Anticipates the surgeon's needs and passes instruments, sponges, sutures, and supplies throughout the procedure.
• Maintains sterile technique and reports any breaks in sterility.
• Performs surgical counts with the circulating nurse per policy.
• Prepares, labels, and handles medications and solutions on the sterile field as directed.
• Operates and monitors surgical equipment and reports malfunctions.
• Assists with patient positioning, transport, and transfer as directed.
