Job summary

Qualifications

• Must have or be eligible to obtain applicable nursing/tech education.
• BLS certification required within 30 days of hire.
• LPN, RN, or Surgical Technology background acceptable depending on path.

Responsibilities

• Utilizes quality aseptic technique in OR settings.
• Assist circulating RN in maintaining sterile field.
• Performs sponge, instrument, and needle counts with the circulating RN.
• Assists with gowning and gloving surgeons and positioning equipment.
• Passes sterile instruments to the surgical team during procedures.
• Assists with transportation and positioning of patients per surgeon direction.
• Prepares supplies and equipment for surgical procedures.
• Assists with sterilization and maintenance of supplies and equipment.
• Monitors inventory; orders and restocks supplies, instruments, and equipment.
• Removes out-of-date items and discards or reprocesses per guidelines.
• Assists with general department cleaning duties.
• Performs equipment checks as assigned.
• Assists with recording patient charges.
• Responds to calls with a 30-minute response time.
