Job summary

MercyOne Newton Medical Center is seeking an outpatient staff nurse to deliver direct care for pre- and post-operative patients, coordinating with physicians and patients’ families to ensure high-quality care.

The role requires graduation from an accredited nursing program and an Iowa RN license, with 2+ years of perioperative experience; ACLS/PALS recommended. Full-time, day shift, on-site at MercyOne Newton Medical Center.

Qualifications

• Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Minimum of two years of pre- and post-op surgical care of patients.
• Must possess a current license as a Registered Nurse from the State of Iowa.
• Must be able to read, write and follow written and oral instructions in English.
• ACLS and PALS certification recommended.

Responsibilities

• Deliver direct care for pre- and post-operative patients using the nursing process.
• Coordinate care with other disciplines and collaborate with the patient, family, significant other, and physician on patient behalf.
• Adhere to hospital policies and procedures of the hospital.
