The role requires 2+ years of observation/surgery coding or AdventHealth training, with CCS/RHIA/RHIT/CPC/CIRCC certifications. Strong attention to detail and teamwork are essential for success.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• 2+ years of observation and surgery coding experience or completed AdventHealth training.
• CCS, RHIA, RHIT, CPC and CIRCC certifications required.
• Strong CPT/HCPCS coding knowledge and modifier usage.
• Knowledge of OPPS/APC reimbursement and NCCI edits.

Responsibilities

• Assign CPT/HCPCS codes and modifiers for outpatient surgical, interventional, and observation encounters.
• Review clinical documentation for accurate coding of procedures and services.
• Apply knowledge of modifiers, bundling rules, and reimbursement methodologies.
• Ensure proper coding of multi-component procedures and observation services.
• Maintain productivity and support timely claim submission.
• Apply coding guidelines to ensure compliant practices.
• Identify documentation gaps and seek clarification for accurate representation.
• Support resolution of edits, denials, and billing issues as needed.
• Incorporate audit findings into daily coding practice for continuous improvement.
• Maintain current knowledge of coding updates and organizational standards.
