Job summary

Piedmont Healthcare is seeking an Outpatient Surgery Outpatient Coder to review, analyze, and assign codes for hospital outpatient procedures, wound care, and observation. The role emphasizes accurate coding using ICD-10-CM and CPT-4/HCPCS guidelines.

Qualified candidates have HS Diploma or GED and hospital coding experience; RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CPC, or related certifications are preferred. Remote coding experience is a plus, with on-site collaboration at the facility.

Responsibilities: Reviews, analyzes, and assigns codes based on appropriate coding guidelines and criteria for outpatient medical record documentation to include, but not limited to: medical, diagnostic and surgical documentation for assignment of the correct ICD-10-CM and/or CPT-4 HCPCS codes. Primary coding responsibility is Hospital Outpatient Surgery, Wound Care and Observation.

Qualifications: Education

• H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) Required

Work Experience

• Hospital coding experience Required
• Experience in coding at a multi-hospital organization and remote coding experience is Preferred

Licenses and Certifications
