Job summary

BayMark Health Services, Inc. seeks a compassionate Substance Use Counselor to support patients through medically assisted programs and crisis management. The role includes individual and group counseling, evaluating progress, and coordinating care with a clinical team in a outpatient setting.

The position requires a minimum of a bachelor’s or master’s degree with counseling experience and relevant certifications. A positive, non-judgmental attitude and a background check are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree with counseling experience required.
• Certifications include CAC, CADC, CADC II or LADC II as applicable.
• Experience with chemically dependent individuals is a plus.
• Must pass criminal background check and drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Conduct initial assessments and determine service eligibility.
• Develop and review initial treatment plans with patients.
• Provide individual and group counseling sessions.
• Coordinate services and involve family in recovery when possible.
• Respond to grievances and develop aftercare and discharge plans.

Education

Bachelor’s Degree with 1 year counseling experience

Master’s Degree in Behavioral Science with 1 year counseling experience

Associate’s Degree or High School Diploma with current certification (CAC/CADC or CADC II or LADC II)
