Job summary

WVUH West Virginia University Hospitals is seeking a Scheduling Clerk to manage scheduling, cancellation, rescheduling and registration for outpatient visits across ambulatory clinics. You will collect all necessary information to prepare schedules and registrations, verify guarantor details, and coordinate follow-up appointments.

The role requires a high school diploma, strong communication with patients and staff, and adherence to scheduling guidelines.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• State criminal background check and Federal (if applicable), as required for regulated areas.

Responsibilities

• Checks in and checks out patients in accordance with Scheduling/Registration guidelines.
• Obtain and verify patient guarantor information to ensure patient record is up-to-date.
• Schedules and registers patients based on guidelines and medical appropriateness.
• Coordinate follow-up appointments and testing at checkout.
• Collects information from patients to schedule and register for appointments.
• Notifies relevant personnel of scheduling changes due to patient cancellations.
