Job summary

You will input data into Meditech, explain payment options, and discuss estimates, co-insurances/deductibles, and out-of-pocket responsibilities. You may perform additional duties as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to multitask in a high-stress environment.
• Interpersonal skills including effective oral communication and good telephone etiquette.
• Experience dealing with the public and familiarity with medical terminology.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers by telephone in a courteous manner.
• Schedule patient appointments for tests hospital-wide as ordered by a physician.
• Obtain demographic and insurance information and enter into Meditech.
• Explain payment options and summarize estimates, co-insurances/deductibles and out-of-pocket responsibilities.
• Perform additional duties such as copying, faxing, verifying orders, and answering/placing calls.
• Follow department manager/director instructions.
