Job summary

Boston Medical Center is seeking a Co-op Student (Non-PT) for the Outpatient Rehab South Bay Clinic in Dorchester, MA. The role involves supervised work terms aligned with the student’s field of study and provides on-the-job training within a hospital setting.

Responsibilities include assisting with patient treatments, documenting progress, and coordinating with nursing and medical staff. This is a temporary, full-time, 40-hours-per-week position at the South Bay Clinic.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; must be enrolled in Northeastern University Co-op program (sophomore, junior or senior).
• BLS for Healthcare Providers certification required.

Responsibilities

• Learns and assists with patient treatment including basic therapeutic procedures, patient positioning, bed mobility, transfers, gait training, and modalities.
• Documents patient progress in chart and daily treatment statistics; handles billing procedures.
• Keeps therapist informed of patient status and assists with determining appropriate treatment completion times; communicates with nursing and medical staff.
