Job summary

Boston Medical Center is seeking a Co-op Student (Non-PT) for the Outpatient Rehab program at the South Bay Clinic in Dorchester, MA. This temporary, 40-hour per week role offers hands-on training supervised by experienced staff, with a focus on patient care within a hospital setting.

The position requires residency in the Northeastern University Co-op program as a sophomore, junior, or senior, plus a High School diploma or equivalent and BLS certification.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Current enrollment in Northeastern University's Co-operative Education Program as a sophomore, junior or senior required.
• BLS for Healthcare Providers certification required.

Responsibilities

• Assists with patient treatment including basic therapeutic procedures and modalities.
• Assists with exercise classes.
• Documents patient progress and daily treatment statistics; handles daily billing entries.
• Keeps therapist informed of patient status and determines appropriate timing for continued treatment.
• Communicates with nursing and medical staff regarding patient care.
• Sets up and cleans patient areas and equipment; maintains treatment area cleanliness.
• Maintains inventory of equipment and supplies; notifies supervisor when restocking is needed.
• Attends in-services and staff meetings; performs administrative duties as assigned.
• Follows RESPECT values and hospital infection control and safety procedures.
