Job summary

The Brigham and Women's Hospital, a Mass General Brigham facility, seeks a rehab aide co-op to assist rehabilitation staff in daily operations, following state licensing regulations and departmental standards and policies. You will help with inventory, maintain and clean equipment, greet patients, support supervising therapists, and perform PT-supervised tasks during your formal co-op rotation.

This role provides exposure to a premier academic medical center environment and hands-on experience

• Education: Northeastern student enrolled in Health Sciences program.
• Can this role accept experience in lieu of a degree? No

Responsibilities

• Assist rehab staff in day-to-day operation of the service in accordance with State licensing regulations, departmental standards and policies.
• Assist with inventory control with oversight by the Purchasing Clerk of the department.
• Responsible for daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance and cleaning of rehabilitation equipment.
• Assist in greeting/escorting patients and facilitating smooth departmental flow of patients.
• Assist supervising therapist in patient care in accordance within state licensing regulations.
• Under the direct supervision of a Physical Therapist the co‑op rehab aide can perform those aspects of physical therapy intervention that they have completed coursework in and that the clinical supervisor has determined that they are competent in performing.
• Completes other appropriate duties as assigned.
