UHC United Hospital Center in Bridgeport, WV seeks an administrative services specialist to handle patient registration, scheduling, insurance verification, and related clerical duties. You will verify eligibility, obtain authorizations, manage patient files, and assist therapists with admissions and scheduling in a fast-paced outpatient setting.

The role requires strong phone skills, familiarity with ICD-10/CPT codes, and the ability to multitask in a busy office environment.

Formación

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• CPR certification required within 90 days of hire.

Responsabilidades

• Obtain demographic and insurance information accurately for pre-registration/intake processes.
• Registers rehab series patients per admission standards.
• Determines eligibility and benefits; verifies coverage and communicates results to patient.
• Obtains insurance authorization in a timely fashion; communicates visits to/from dates with therapists.
• Monitors authorized visits; notifies therapist when additional authorization is required.
• Communicates authorization numbers and dates with the business office.
• Participates in denial management by seeking retro-authorization and informing the business office.
• Obtains physician signature for Medicare Plan of Care Certification/Re-certification and monitors status.
• Schedules patients effectively; maintains therapist schedules and coordinates multi-service appointments.
• Manages patient files and hard-copy forms.
• Obtains physician orders as needed.
• Performs other clerical duties and outpatient reception duties.
• Greets patients professionally; notifies therapists of arrival.
• Directs self-pay patients to charity care when eligible.
