Rehab Associates of Central Virginia is seeking a dedicated Physical Therapist to join our outpatient team. You will assess patients, design and implement treatment plans, and collaborate with physicians and insurers to optimize care.

This role emphasizes evidence-based practice, clear documentation, and patient education. The successful candidate will hold a DPT from a CAPTE-accredited program, be eligible for Virginia licensure, and be proficient with EMR systems and MS Office.

Qualifications

• Must be a graduate of a CAPTE-accredited DPT or PT program.
• Current Virginia Physical Therapist license or eligibility.
• Current CPR certification (or ability to obtain upon hire).
• Experience or interest in outpatient orthopedic care, including balance and vestibular rehab.
• Ability to develop and implement individualized treatment plans in an outpatient setting.
• Ability to work independently while managing a diverse patient caseload.
• Strong communication, clinical reasoning, and patient education skills.
• Proficiency with EMR systems and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Assesses patients and develops and initiates treatment plans based on evaluation results.
• Reviews physician referrals and patient records to determine required physical therapy.
• Delivers direct patient care per established protocols and guidelines.
• Documents findings, progress, and instructions to patients and caregivers.
• Oversees patient care performed by assistants and rehabilitation technicians.
• Completes a written plan of care, sets goals, and builds a comprehensive program.
• Implements therapy treatments and delivers essential PT services.
• Communicates effectively with patients, caregivers, physicians, and insurers.
• Ensures timely documentation, including daily notes, progress reports, and discharge summaries.
