Job summary

Talent With Heart is seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant to join our outpatient team in Montour Falls, NY. The role provides skilled PT treatment under a licensed PT, supports tailored plans, and guides patients through exercises, gait training, and home programs.

The position requires NY PTA licensure (or eligibility), an associate degree, CPR, and commitment to safety training; outpatient experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) is required.
• Current New York State PTA licensure or eligibility.
• CPR certification is required.
• Must complete yearly safety trainings and HealthStream courses.
• Outpatient experience preferred; new graduates may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Provide skilled PT treatment under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist.
• Implement individualized treatment plans to address patient goals and needs.
• Instruct and assist patients with therapeutic exercises, gait and balance training, and ADLs.
• Assist with safe use of assistive devices and orthotics as directed.
• Administer modalities as directed by the PT (e.g., ultrasound, electrical stimulation).
• Monitor and document patient responses; report progress to supervising PT.
• Communicate progress and adjust treatment plans as needed.
• Participate in discharge planning and home exercise program education.
• Educate patients and families on exercises, safety, and home program adherence.
• Maintain documentation in the EMR and ensure compliance with NYS requirements.
