Job summary

Trinity Health in Ann Arbor, MI, seeks a phlebotomy technician for the Outpatient Lab. The role requires flexibility to work 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM on weekdays with a 1-hour lunch, and every three weeks a Saturday shift 7:00 AM to 12:00 PM.

Travel to all Clinical Lab Locations is required: Ann Arbor, Canton, Milan, Plymouth, Ypsilanti. You will perform phlebotomy, specimen handling, data entry in EPIC, and ensure accurate patient samples and demographics.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; completion of phlebotomy, medical assistant or patient care technician training.
• Previous phlebotomy experience preferred if formal training and certification as a phlebotomist is not obtained.

Responsibilities

• Perform successful sample collection including venipuncture, capillary puncture, infant heel sticks, and urine collection with proper patient identification.
• Understand laboratory requisitions and locate missing or incomplete information.
• Complete specimen handling and processing including centrifugation and aliquoting.
• Complete follow-up tasks as needed and maintain workstation cleanliness.
• Register outpatients in EPIC and determine preliminary patient/insurance payment obligation.
