Job Summary

The Pharmacy Technician I is responsible for providing pharmacy services, including dispensing, preparing, and delivering pharmaceuticals, performing inventory control, compliance audits, financial transactions, customer service, and maintaining pharmacy records. They may assist in onboarding and training staff under the guidance of Pharmacy Leadership. The role is designed to utilize and extend knowledge while performing technical pharmacy functions in various pharmacy settings such as Ambulatory Pharmacy, Inpatient Pharmacy, Infusion Pharmacy, or Pharmaceutical Research Center.

Specific responsibilities will be documented and retained internally by the Department of Pharmacy.

Primary Responsibilities

1. Select, package, and label medication and supply orders for pharmacist approval, ensuring accurate data entry of patient and insurance information, and medication details.
2. Maintain, track, and monitor medication and supply inventory levels, informing relevant personnel of stock needs and shortages.
3. Utilize medical informatics systems, including order-entry systems, automated dispensing devices, barcode technology, and clinical integrated systems, supporting daily operations.
4. Deliver medications, pharmacy products, and services to patients or care areas in compliance with regulatory standards.
5. Perform other duties as assigned.
