Qualifications

• Must have national certification such as PTCB or NHA.
• TN Pharmacy Tech License required.
• Pharmacy Technician program completion or equivalent education.
• Minimum 1 year experience as Pharmacy Technician.

Responsibilities

• Prepares unit dose medications and fills unit dose carts.
• Calculates, weighs and compounds ingredients for non-sterile products.
• Prepares, labels and documents IV products.
• Uses aseptic techniques and laminar flow hood for sterile products.
• Packages and labels dosage forms and records medication orders.
• Delivers patient medication orders to units.
• Maintains prescription/medication records and conducts inventory.
• Interacts with patients and coordinates with pharmacists to ensure safe care.
