Job summary

Intermountain Health is launching a new outpatient pharmacy at St. Mary’s Regional Hospital in Grand Junction, Colorado.

The Pharmacy Technician will support daily operations, help establish workflows, and collaborate with pharmacists and technicians to prepare prescriptions and assist patients throughout the process. The role emphasizes patient care in a retail-like environment with a strong focus on safety, accuracy, and efficiency.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Current pharmacy technician certification/licensure applicable to state.
• Knowledge of state and federal regulations governing pharmacy distribution, including controlled substances.
• Lapses in certification or licensure may result in disciplinary action.

Responsibilities

• Assist the pharmacist in collecting patient information and maintaining records.
• Use pharmacy technology to prepare medication orders, perform calculations, and compound medications as needed.
• Obtain appropriate supervision and ensure pharmacist verification when required.
• Maintain medication supplies and monitor inventories, including 340B/charging management.
• Communicate with caregivers about responsibilities and participate in quality and patient safety initiatives.
