Job summary

Intermountain Health is launching a new outpatient pharmacy at St. Mary’s Regional Hospital in Grand Junction, CO. We seek a proactive Pharmacy Technician to build operational workflows and support patient care in a retail-like setting within a hospital environment.

You will partner with pharmacists and technicians to prepare prescriptions, coordinate medication access, and assist patients through the dispensing process, while ensuring compliance and safety in daily operations.

Qualifications

• High School or equivalent is required.
• Current pharmacy technician certification and/or license applicable to state of practice.
• Current knowledge of state and federal regulations and statutes regarding the practice of pharmacy and the distribution of approved drugs.
• Any lapse or failure to meet these requirements may result in disciplinary action, up to termination, at the hiring manager's discretion.

Responsibilities

• Assists the pharmacist in collecting clinical and other patient information and maintaining records.
• Uses pharmacy technology to prepare medication orders for dispensing and performs calculations as needed.
• Attains supervision and accuracy checks by the pharmacist and knows when verification is required.
• Maintains medication supplies and monitors controlled substance inventories for security and cost effectiveness.
• Communicates with caregivers and participates in quality and patient safety initiatives.
