Job summary

UChicago Medicine seeks a Pharmacy Technician to rotate through all areas of the Outpatient Pharmacy (DCAM). You will prepare medications, restock and stock shelves, and assist in cashiering, under pharmacist supervision.

The role requires IL licensure, a high school diploma, and at least one year of pharmacy experience, with preferred ASHP certification and 1–3 years hospital/retail experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Current valid license as a pharmacy technician in Illinois.
• Minimum of one year pharmacy experience.
• 1–3 years hospital or retail experience as a licensed technician (preferred).
• ASHP-certified technician program or national certification within 1 year (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Restock and clean; handle triage calls per policy and maintain workload records.
• Prepare medications for dispensing under pharmacist supervision; unit-dose packaging.
• Manage inventories; order drugs and supplies; stock shelves in pharmacy locations.
• Prepare outpatient prescriptions and perform cashiering duties in the Outpatient Pharmacy.
• Assist in training new pharmacists and technician staff.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
