Job summary

UChicago Medicine is seeking a Pharmacy Technician (Registry) for the Outpatient Pharmacy (DCAM) in Hyde Park. You will rotate through all pharmacy areas, fill first doses, restock, and manage outpatient prescriptions while ensuring timely medication distribution.

The role requires an Illinois license, a high school diploma, and at least one year of pharmacy experience. Working 16+ hours weekly on rotating shifts, including Saturdays, with 100% campus assignment, is expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Must hold current valid license as a pharmacy technician in the State of Illinois
• Minimum of one year pharmacy experience

Responsibilities

• Process, prepare and dispense medication orders and supplies according to policy and procedure.
• Prepare outpatient prescriptions and perform cashiering duties in the Outpatient Pharmacy.
• Communicate with patients, pharmacists and team members to process prescriptions and triage/escalate as needed.
• Assist in training of new pharmacists and technician employees in their work areas.
• Complete continuing education and annual technician competencies, and comply with policies and laws.
