Job summary

RPh on the Go is seeking a Retail Outpatient Pharmacy Technician in Chicago, IL to join a dynamic outpatient retail pharmacy team. The role focuses on day-to-day dispensing and patient care within a weekday schedule from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

Responsibilities include processing prescriptions, using Pioneer RX, ensuring policy compliance, and assisting pharmacists with patient education. Illinois license required; 1+ year experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of pharmacy technician experience.
• Knowledge of pharmacy insurance claims processing.
• Valid Illinois pharmacy technician license.

Responsibilities

• Accurately process medication orders and prescriptions, packaging and dispensing pre-manufactured dosage forms.
• Utilize Pioneer RX computer system and pharmacy techniques to manage storage, preparation, dispensing, and labeling of medicinal agents.
• Ensure compliance with health system policies, including cart fill, unit dose distribution, controlled substances reconciliation, and pharmaceutical purchasing.
• Support pharmacists in patient, physician, and nursing education, as well as drug information retrieval.
• Assist in collecting patient-specific data for optimizing pharmacotherapy, screening for IV to oral conversions, renal dosing adjustments, allergies, and non-formulary prescriptions.
• Obtain clinical pharmacokinetic data to help design safe and effective drug regimens, including creatinine clearance calculations when necessary.

This role offers contract-to-hire employment, presenting an opportunity to transition into a permanent position.
