Job summary

Intermountain Health’s St. Mary’s Regional Hospital outpatient pharmacy is building a new program in Grand Junction, CO.

The Pharmacy Technician will partner with pharmacists and other technicians to prepare prescriptions, coordinate medication access, and support patient experiences in a growing outpatient setting. The role emphasizes hands-on pharmacy operations, workflow development, and direct patient care within a retail-like environment, with opportunities to contribute to program design

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Current pharmacy technician certification and/or license for state of practice.
• Knowledge of state and federal regulations and statutes regarding pharmacy practice.

Responsibilities

• Assist the pharmacist in collecting patient information and maintaining records as required by regulation and policy.
• Utilize pharmacy technology to prepare medication orders, perform calculations, and compound medications as appropriate to the practice site.
• Attains supervision and accuracy checks by the pharmacist and understands when verification is needed.
• Maintain medication supplies and monitor controlled substance inventories for security and cost effectiveness.
• Communicate with caregivers and participate in safety and quality initiatives to elevate patient care.
